Donate a Toy today

Donate a new unwrapped toy to office between Dec. 12- Dec. 21 and your student will earn a Dolphin Proud. We have teamed up with San Francisco FireFighters Toy Program. Besides helping individual families in need, the Toy Program serves many community organizations, including shelters for abused women and children, inner-city schools, children’s cancer wards, and pediatric AIDS units.

Nutcracker by Benicia Ballet Dec. 2nd

NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCE DECEMBER 2ND

We have a fantastic opportunity again this year for our students to attend the Benicia Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker at Solano Community College.

The performance takes place on Saturday December 2nd at 2:00pm. We will provide transportation (school bus) to and from the performance. Students are free and parents will pay a discounted price of $24. We will even have Oakbrook teachers and Ms. Turner to chaperone if you don't want to attend but want to send your student.

" Texting, livestreaming, Instagram, Minecraft. What are kids doing on the Internet? And who are they communicating with? Learn about social networking, texting, gaming, and how to help your child use the Internet responsibly at our Family Tech Talk Night on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm atOakbrook Academy of the Arts, Library.

Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online. This isn’t an easy task—our kids have never known life without the Internet, and in many cases, they know more about it than we do.

Please join us as we discuss what our children are doing online and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. You’ll learn about:

•   The importance of knowing the sites and apps your child uses

•   How kids are using mobile devices like smartphones and tablets

•   Social networking sites and how to help your child use them wisely

•   What to do if your child encounters online bullying

•   Objectionable content, how to block it, and what to do if your child views it

•   The importance of teaching your child to find a healthy balance with technology use

•   Your role in keeping the conversation going about responsible Internet use

Tomorrow is a staff work day and there are no students. Teachers will be working on student report cards.  Report will come out the week of Nov. 13th which is also when parent/teacher conferences will be held. Please check in with your student's teacher on how to schedule a conference.

Chalk Day Friday

Students and staff will be drawing images on the blacktop and photographing with those images. Please don't send your student in "Sunday Best" clothes as they will be lying down on the blacktop to "interact" with the images drawn.

Calling all Oakbrook Muscians in 4th - 8th Grade 

Band is starting Wednesday September 20th in Room 28 at 2:15. Come meet Mr. Hinke and try out instruments at the Dolphin Band information meeting.

Come on by to our first monthly 3 P's in a Pod meeting (Principal, PTA & Parents)!!  It is Wednesday night at 6:00 pm in the Oakbrook library!  We will meet for any questions you may have.  We will also have an agenda topic each month.  This month we will be discussing PTA and how it works with the school and exactly where your money goes.  See you then!!

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year. Student wellness is at the heart of learning. Students who have a healthy lifestyle can achieve more and be more successful in school.  We are working to provide a healthy classroom and school campus for your student to thrive. When there is an opportunity for classroom celebrations; birthdays, holidays, awards, we want to celebrate without food.  Instead, we would like you to bring items like books, bookmarks, coloring books, stickers, for example. If you would like to provide a treat, fresh fruit or vegetables are allowed.

Thank you for working with us to provide a healthy learning environment for your student.  We look forward to a successful school year ahead.

Have you turned in your Annual Residency Forms??

Any student that did NOT turn in their annual verification at the end of the school year will not be placed in a class until the office has received your TWO accepted documents for proof of  residency. Please call the office if you are unsure. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

ROCK THE RUNWAY

We have the wonderful opportunity again, to do the fashion show at the mall this year. If you would like your student to participate in this fun activity please call the office ASAP. Space is limited! We need Boys and Girls of all ages.

JcPenny's will be partnering with us for the outfits, Sephora has offered to do makeup makeovers for age appropriate students and the hair salon will help with hair.

Practices for the Fashion Show will be Monday, Tuesday Wednesday Aug 7-9 at 9:00 am HERE at Oakbrook.

The Fashion Show is Sunday August 13th at the Solano Mall from 12-2.

We are OPEN. 

The office is now open from 8:30-4:00. We are getting things ready for everyone's return on Wednesday August 16th. Class lists will be posted on the front doors at 4:00 pm on Tuesday August 15th.

Kindergarten Orientation is Tuesday August 15th at 1:00 pm and any new students in grades 1st-8th can come to a New Student Orientation also On August 15th at 1:00 pm in the Multi Use Room.
